The William and Cora Saperstein Foundation awards one to two-year $1,000 scholarships to deserving students pursuing their associate degree in the San Mateo County Community College District.
Full-time student pursuing an Associate Degree (2 year program) in the San Mateo County Community College District, that can demonstrate a need for financial support (an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number less than 7,000).
Approved as well as dismissed applicants are notified by e-mail before the end of July. The board does not give any motivation, neither to approvals nor to dismissals.
College needs to be within the San Mateo County Community College District.
Application portal closes May 31st 2024. After candidate selection, if you qualify, the board will contact you for an interview before making its final decision. You will be notified whether you have been awarded or not by the end of July, 2024.
After you have enrolled in classes and submitted a record thereof, you will receive your first grant installment.
Submit a 1-2 page report of your progress after year one of college (inside and outside of school) to wacsfoundation@gmail.com. Deadline is May 31st after being awarded the first scholarship.
The board will review your report on year one to determine your second year grant eligibility. Applies to recipients awarded a two-year grant.
After you have enrolled in your second year classes and submitted a record thereof, you will receive your second grant installment.
